Following our successful work on the relaunch of Tomlinson Hall’s Liquivac product, the company commissioned Horizonworks to act as its outsourced marketing team and provide a suite of services that would help both reinforce its position as one of the UK’s leading pump distributors and help it to reach new markets. In addition, the company required a new marketing strategy to underpin its future growth ambitions, and also needed a new brand and visual style. Tomlinson Hall wanted to present itself as a forward-thinking, innovative company via a contemporary brand and consistent visual style, whilst also conveying its strong engineering heritage.
After undertaking a substantial amount of research into Tomlinson Hall and its sector, we produced a new brand for the company and a visual style that would be easily implemented across digital platforms and printed marketing material: we drew on the company’s heritage, with the use of the strapline ‘pump specialists since 1919’ yet devised a new style that was modern and striking, using the form of an Archimedes screw to underline the visual style.
We also devised a strategy which focused on key industry sectors, and built marketing tactics around this.
And we have also helped Tomlinson Hall access funding for strategic marketing and business development work. Our ongoing marketing work includes regional and trade focused PR campaigns, supporting the creation of awards submissions, digital marketing to engage with both current clients and prospects, and the production of sales material, including presentations and brochures.
Our strategic insight, brand, design and PR support has helped to position Tomlinson Hall as a forward-looking industry leader. As the company’s outsourced marketing team, we’ve played an important role in raising Tomlinson Hall’s profile regionally, nationally and internationally through integrated marketing activity.
With the help of our support in award submissions, Tomlinson Hall was named SME of the Year in the North East Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC) Awards 2015, Small Business of the Year in the Teesside Business Awards 2015 and Small Business of the Year in the North East Business Awards 2015. The company was also a finalist in the national British Chamber Awards 2015 and in 2016, it was named Distributor of the Year in the Pump Industry Awards.
