North East manufacturers are set to benefit from digital expertise at the AMF Marketing Club which will be held in Teesside in line with the event’s one-year anniversary.
The AMF Marketing Club, hosted by the Advanced Manufacturing Forum (AMF) and its strategic marketing partner Horizonworks, will be held at Darlington Campus, Teesside University on 5 October 2017 and will focus on ‘Digital Marketing in Manufacturing’.
The event, which aims to create an environment where marketing expertise and best practice can be shared and utilised amongst North East manufacturers, will see expert guest speakers share essential tips for choosing the best digital marketing approach and discuss real examples and benefits of using digital channels to target regional, national and global audiences and to open up new opportunities.
In line with its one year anniversary, this will be the first time that the AMF Marketing Club has been held in Teesside as both the AMF and Horizonworks seek to drive industry development both regionally and nationally, and to reflect the event’s continually growing influence throughout the North East.
Established by the private sector in 2006 to offer a single voice on behalf of the manufacturing community, the AMF is now the largest manufacturing forum in the North East, engaging with members and the wider business community to exchange ideas and knowledge to create business growth and success opportunities within the manufacturing industry.
Launched in 2010 by Samantha Davidson, Horizonworks is a specialist B2B strategic marketing agency with offices in Newcastle upon Tyne and Middlesbrough, Teesside. Horizonworks specialises in working with a variety of industries including manufacturing and engineering, healthcare and life sciences, technology and innovation, professional services and the public sector.
Speaking at the Marketing Club is: Carolyn Simpson, marketing specialist at Zytronic; Philip Astley, managing director of The Expanded Metal Company; John Carrington, international digital adviser at the Department for International Trade; and David Dixon, investment manager at Digital City.
Topics covered will include: coordinating digital marketing on a global scale; how an international manufacturer employs digital marketing to drive growth and increase brand awareness; and what to consider when internationalising a website to market overseas.
The event will also include a presentation from Horizonworks’ managing director, Samantha Davidson, who will utilise her extensive marketing and industry expertise to provide tips on how to effectively use digital marketing to create a successful B2B marketing campaign.
Samantha said of the event: “The power of digital marketing cannot be ignored – it provides a crucial opportunity for businesses to expand their reach and increase brand awareness on a regional, national and global platform. It is for this reason we’ve chosen to focus this Marketing Club on ‘Digital Marketing in Manufacturing’.
“We launched the AMF Marketing Club in October 2016 with the aim of providing North East manufacturers with knowledge, skills and best practice to implement within their own businesses. I am thrilled that a year on from its launch the Marketing Club continues to be extremely popular in terms of attendance, demand and feedback received.
“I am confident that the topic and high calibre of speakers at this event will provide attendees with tactics and insight that they can use within their own businesses, to better improve their marketing and open up new opportunities for business growth.”
Jack Hanwell, AMF manufacturing sector development manager, said: “Our membership is continually growing and becoming more widespread throughout the North East – it is important to us that we host meetings which are reflective of this. I am therefore delighted that we will be hosting the AMF Marketing Club in Teesside and we will continue to respond to industry demands as we extend our reach throughout the region.
“Teesside University has a long and reputable history within digital innovation and technology and has opened up incredible opportunities for businesses in the region – therefore it is an ideal location for us to host Teesside’s first AMF Marketing Club.
“As the voice of manufacturing in the North East, the AMF strives to continually support and engage with its members and the wider business community to exchange ideas and promote opportunities within the region. The speakers at this event are experts within their field and they will provide attendees with a unique wealth of knowledge and industry expertise based on a theme not previously explored before.”
As well as hosting the Marketing Club, the AMF also runs a quarterly HR Forum, Finance Forum, Process Improvement Group and monthly meetings for its members.
The AMF offers members business support and advice on areas ranging from funding to staffing, marketing, environmental issues, HR, IT and legal guidance, as well as providing support to members on productivity, innovation and training and skills.
The event, which is free to attend, will be held Thursday 5 October 2017, 12:00-2:00pm, at Darlington Campus, Teesside University.
