Background

Demob Job is a long-established technical and engineering recruitment specialist for ex-military personnel. Helping to bridge the gap between companies and personnel leaving the military, Demob Job utilises its extensive military insight coupled with expertise in engineering and technical roles to identify the right candidates for its clients.

The company did not implement regular marketing activities and the majority of its customers were based in the Midlands and North West.  Demob Job appointed Horizon Works to develop a marketing strategy which would support its growth journey, through raising its profile with a focus on the North East of England to attract more regional clients, and increase engagement with customers and prospects in the manufacturing, engineering and automotive sectors.

Utilising our research into the company, its customers, competitors and key markets, we developed a marketing strategy and plan to support Demob Job’s business objectives and position the company as a leader in its industry.

A key recommendation was to refresh Demob Job’s brand and visual style as it different reflect the company, its team and expertise.  Its service and expertise were strengths that came out of the research and this would be reinforced in powerful messaging to clearly articulate Demob Job’s proposition as a specialist in ex-military recruitment and its experience and expertise in its key markets.  Furthermore, it would help Demob Job cement its market position in a competitive industry.

Outcome

The Demob Job team really embraced the refreshed logo, strapline, visual style and messaging which reflects the company they are today. The brand re-positioning, coupled with the focused marketing approach, helped us to strengthen Demob Job’s regional profile and position the company as a leader in its industry.

Following the marketing strategy project, Horizon Work was retained to provide marketing support to Demob Job. We implemented a range of activities including PR campaigns, network engagement within NEPIC (North East of England Process Industry Cluster) and the NEAA (North East Automotive Alliance), content marketing and digital marketing. The ongoing implementation of our strategy has also allowed the company to engage directly with its target audience including the manufacturing, engineering and automotive sectors.
