At the beginning
With over 25 years’ experience, PFF Packaging is one of the UK’s largest independent food packaging manufacturers. The organisation has both an innovation centre and manufacturing facilities, enabling the company to offer the complete packaging solution from initial concept and design to production, decoration and delivery.
To strengthen its position in the UK market, the company acquired North East based, Intelligent Packaging Solutions (IPS) and Thermopack.
PFF Packaging appointed Horizon Works to help develop a group brand that encompassed the two organisations that PFF Packaging had acquired. This meant that new key messages and a new visual style had to be created which could be used across a suite of online and offline marketing materials including a website.
PFF Packaging possess years of experience within its industry and are a long established and trusted provider of innovative and sustainable packaging solutions and it was important that this reputation was not lost through the creation of a new brand.
We took PFF Packaging on the Horizon Works journey. Firstly, it was important that we carried out extensive research to gain a complex understanding of the sector and discovering how people perceived the current brand and organisation was key. It was important to understand PFF Packaging, Thermopack and IPS as combined and separate entities and as a result discover the key and important factors that could not be lost in the combined brand.
We created a strong overarching brand for PFF Packaging which included the new strapline, ‘innovation, sustainability, creativity’ to reflect the ethos and culture of innovation. We also developed a brand-new website for the organisation that was functional and accommodated the firm’s continued growth.
The website showcases the breadth of expertise that PFF Packaging has in the industry through the markets they serve and being at the forefront of the latest technologies. The website is sleek, easy to navigate and offers a wealth of information.
In addition to this, we developed a suite of marketing and exhibition materials which included press releases, business cards, email signatures, brochures and a range of templates for the organisation to use.
The results and beyond
PFF Packaging now has a strong brand identity which reflects the business, its values and its reputation in the packaging industry. The new website and marketing materials have been successful in clearly articulating the group’s capabilities and customer journey from concept to customer.
We were successful in making the market aware of the power of the newly merged company. PFF Packaging is now the largest independent packaging and thermo-packaging company in the UK and are known for its personal service and personal approach.
