Background

A collaboration between Advance Northumberland, Innovation SuperNetwork and Northumbria University, Rural Design Centre Innovation Project supports small and medium sized enterprises as they identify opportunities and develop solutions to challenges facing rural communities.

In preparation for its launch, Rural Design Centre Innovation Project appointed Horizon Works to develop a brand which would effectively portray its proposition and engage its varied target audiences.

Our Vision

The Rural Design Centre Innovation Project unites rural communities, local businesses, public sector organisations and researchers, to identify and develop solutions to challenges faced by rural life and to realise new opportunities – big and small.

We worked closely with the Rural Design Centre Innovation Project and through focused scoping and brand sessions we gained an in-depth understanding of its core values, objectives, and its target audiences, this allowed us to develop a new brand for the organisation.

Our Approach

We created a brand identity for Rural Design Centre Innovation Project this included a logo, visual style, and brand guidelines which would allow the team and stakeholders to utilise the brand in an engaging, consistent and impactful way.

Additionally, in the new brand style we designed a flyer, presentation template, email marketing templates and social media banners to help the team continue to raise its profile and maximise its reach.

Rural Design Centre Innovation Project now has a clear and defined brand which is reflective of its target audiences, its innovative and collaborative approach, and the positive change it delivers.
