Background

Founded in 1973, Taylor Packaging is a leading provider of intelligent and innovative bespoke packaging solutions. A family owned business, the company prides itself on its industry knowledge, resources and facilities in order to produce the right packaging for its customers.

Although the company provides packaging solutions to regional leaders in the automotive, manufacturing, engineering and construction industries, it was looking to further raise its profile and level of engagement with key target audiences.

Horizon Works was appointed to develop a marketing strategy and plan, conduct a brand review and develop a new website to help modernise the company whilst drawing on its expertise and position it as a leader in its industry.

Approach

We conducted extensive research including a customer communications audit, insight into key markets Taylor Packaging operates in and an in-depth competitor analysis. This allowed us to gauge customer perceptions of the company, the service and products it offered and benchmark the company against its competitors, as well as define Taylor Packaging’s USP and proposition.

Our recommendations from the strategy included creating a strong brand identity through the refresh of its logo, visual style and messaging. This approach would enable us to develop a clearer business proposition, reinforce its values and highlight its USPs to help set the company apart from its competitors. We also recommended the implementation of a structured marketing plan to educate customers and prospects of Taylor Packaging’s capabilities and expertise and improve up-selling and cross-selling opportunities.

Outcome

Taylor Packaging now has the right tools in place to market itself effectively, utilising the new branding and messaging we developed a suite of tools to be implemented across Taylor Packaging’s marketing channels and improve engagement with customers and prospects.

We also designed and developed a new website to showcase the breadth of products that Taylor Packaging supplies, coupled with the expertise and heritage of the company and the markets it serves.

Additionally, to raise Taylor Packaging’s profile press releases, blogs and case studies are disseminated through a number of channels including the company website, e-newsletter, member networks, regional and trade press and social media.
