Established in 1939, Tamworth-based Calatherm has over eight decades of experience in engineering, designing and manufacturing custom vehicle thermal management systems in the UK. Its solutions include heat recovery systems, battery cooling, cooling packs, HVAC units and advanced HMI and thermal control modules, and the company serves high profile customers such as JCB, Morgan and Stadler.

The challenge
Having undergone an MBO in 2024, Calatherm – previously known as Elite KL – required a rebrand to reflect its new chapter under private ownership, and reflect the strength of its people, its expertise and its mission to help businesses and fleets navigate their green energy transition.
Horizon Works was commissioned to support the firm throughout this process – and help cement Calatherm as a leader in thermal management systems.
What we did
We developed a striking new brand identity for the company, one designed to resonate with target audiences in sectors such as automotive, rail and construction, and which combined a sense of movement with temperature. We also shaped new messaging for the company in tandem with the visual style, drawing on both its British engineering heritage and innovative approach to thermal management.
Once the brand was complete, we developed a new website for Calatherm, plus additional assets such as social media graphics.
The impact
Calatherm now has a brand to match its pioneering work in thermal management systems, and an identity which supports the next stage in the company’s journey.
Horizon Works worked closely with us on every step of the re-brand and construction of the new website. They took time to understand who we are and bring a clear voice to our new messaging. As the website evolved through the development process, the communication with the Horizon Works team was great. It was through this communication we were able to ensure we ended up with a fantastic result and reflects Calatherm, our products and our company.
