Social media animations, public relations, sponsor management and the design of an event programme were all part of Horizon Works’ support for this year’s EMCON event.
The engineering and manufacturing showcase, which was held on September 18 at Sunderland Live, Houghton-le-Spring, is an annual event which attracts delegates from SMEs, OEMs, academia, training providers and research organisations.
Delivered annually by Engineering and Manufacturing Network (EMN), EMCON features a vibrant exhibition, plus conference sessions, a Meet The Buyer programme and the North East Maintenance Forum.
As a member and Affiliate of EMN, we’ve been long-standing supporter of EMCON and were proud to play out part in promoting the 2025 edition in its 16th year.

Our work included refreshing the EMCON visual style, refining the event’s messaging, securing press coverage in regional and trade media, managing a LinkedIn advertising campaign, delivering social media from the conference sessions and producing the event’s extensive events guide, which was distributed on the day.
Samantha Vassallo, Managing Director of Horizon Works, said: “EMCON is an event which is very close to our hearts, and we have exhibited at it for many years.
“It’s a place where we’ve sparked off new partnerships, cemented relationships and made valuable connections across the engineering and manufacturing supply chain. Many of our clients return to EMCON every year for the same reasons.
“We’ve always greatly enjoyed working with the EMN team and the membership, having brought our marketing expertise to the 2023 and 2024 EMCON events, and we were proud to have contributed to this year’s event by utilising the strengths of our multi-discplined team.”
EMN is a long-standing cross-sector network dedicated to building and strengthening North East England’s engineering and manufacturing community. It has members stretching across the region, from SMEs to PLCs.
