23rd March 2023

A standing ovation for Kevin Fitzpatrick CBE, cheers for automotive industry innovators, recognition for apprentices and graduates… the North East Automotive Alliance Awards 2023 event was a true celebration of the North East’s automotive sector!

Horizon Works was proud to sponsor and design the awards brochure for the prestigious event, which was held at Ramside Hall on March 23.

Our team enjoyed seeing innovative businesses from across the automotive industry and its supply chain – plus graduates and apprentices – gain richly deserved recognition for their achievements.

Lily Turner of Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK won the Geoff Ford MBE Apprentice Award and Nathaniel Cutler of Komatsu UK took away the Gradate Award.

The Innovation & Technology Awards were won by Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK (large/multinational) and Fuzzy Logic Studio (SME), while in the Sustainability Awards, Port of Tyne (large/multinational) and Aspire Technology Solutions (SME) triumphed.

Adient Seating Ltd won the Employer of the Year Award and Ford Engineering was named SME Company of the Year.

In addition, Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK’s Kevin Fitzpatrick CBE, senior vice president of Manufacturing and Supply Chain for the Africa, Middle East, India, Europe and Oceania region (AMIEO), and the NEAA’s first chairman, was honoured with an Outstanding Contribution Award.

Kevin, who is retiring after decades at the forefront of the automotive sector, has been a true champion of the industry in the North East.

Samantha Vassallo, managing director of Horizon Works, said: “We have a been a member of the North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA) since its inception in 2015 and have enjoyed working with the team over the last eight years, so we were delighted to sponsor the Awards brochure and support the event once again.

“The North East Automotive Alliance Awards showed just how strong and diverse the industry is within the region, despite the challenges it is facing.

“Our congratulations go to all the winners on the evening and to the shortlisted companies and individuals.

“We’d also like to thank the NEAA team for a wonderful event and the incredible work they do in building and promoting the North East’s automotive sector.”
