Celebrating World Earth Day 2024

This World Earth Day, Horizon Works is making a pledge to reduce the amount of plastic, specifically single-use plastic, we use as a team and make a conscious effort to recycle more to reflect the theme of Earth Day 2024, ‘Planet vs. Plastics’.

The aim of the ‘Planet vs. Plastics‘ campaign, a movement by earthday.org, is to call for the end of plastics for the sake of human and planetary health. The campaign is demanding a 60% reduction in the production of plastics by 2040 and has an ultimate goal of building a plastic-free future for generations to come.

Did you know that, according to Greenpeace UK, food and drink packaging waste accounts for over 80% of recorded plastic?

That is why, starting from this World Earth Day, Horizon Works will be fining colleagues who bring single use plastic into the office with the intention of taking accountability for our pledge and donating that money to Earthday.org every 3 months.
